Watering

Approximately 0.20 liter of water once every 2 weeks in spring and summer, every month in winter.

Care Guide

For watering, use water at room temperature and whose chlorine has evaporated. Let the soil dry between 2 waterings. Remove the decorative moss beforehand to avoid wetting it. Water in 2 times, spaced about 10 minutes apart, so that the soil absorbs the water well. Clean the foliage once a month with a soft cloth and diluted black soap. Rotate the pot a quarter circle at this time to promote smooth growth. Apply suitable fertilizer once a month from March to September.

How big can a Sansevieria Laurentii grow?

Sansevieria Laurentii, also known as Snake Plant, will generally not grow taller than 1.30 meter indoors. With its striated, skyward-pointing leaves, Sansevieria Laurentii will bring a touch of natural elegance to any corner of your home.

Does Sansevieria Laurentii purify the air?

Yes, Sansevieria Laurentii is a powerful indoor air purifier, eliminating formaldehyde, benzene and formaldehyde while converting carbon dioxide into oxygen. Its ability to purify the air is so remarkable that it can even improve air quality while you sleep :)

Is Sansevieria Laurentii easy to care for?

Absolutely! Sansevieria Laurentii is the very definition of easy care. It's ideal for those who don't necessarily have a green thumb, or who are often on the move. This stoic plant requires little to thrive: moderate watering (letting the soil dry between waterings) and exposure to medium or indirect light are enough to keep it happy. It is also tolerant of a certain amount of neglect, making it the perfect companion for novice or busy gardeners.

Does Sansevieria Laurentii need a lot of sun?

Sansevieria Laurentii, affectionately known as "the snake plant" or "mother-in-law's tongue", is remarkably flexible when it comes to light.

Although it likes to bask in bright, indirect light, it doesn't shy away from less brightly lit corners of your home either. This adaptability makes it an ideal candidate for different areas of your home, from light-filled windowsills to shadier spaces. However, a word of advice: avoid placing it in direct scorching sunlight, as this could cause burns to its elegant leaves, and adapt watering to a darker environment.

When should I repot my Sansevieria Laurentii?

Repotting Sansevieria Laurentii is a key step to ensuring its prosperity! This robust, undemanding plant does not require frequent repotting. In general, giving your Sansevieria a new home every 2 or 3 years is more than enough. In the meantime, especially for larger specimens, plan to resurface every year to 6 months, replacing a little potting soil on the soil surface.

But how do I know if it's the right time to repot my Sansevieria? Take a look at its roots: if they start to slip out of the pot or warp it, this is a signal that it needs more space to flourish. When repotting, choose a slightly larger pot and make sure it has good drainage.

Is Sansevieria Laurentii toxic or poisonous to humans or pets?

Indeed, it's important to know that Sansevieria Laurentii, despite its elegant appearance and its benefits for the air, can be toxic if ingested. For our four-legged companions, such as dogs and cats, chewing its leaves can lead to mouth irritation, nausea, vomiting and other unpleasant symptoms. Similarly, although it's rare for humans to consume this plant, it's best to keep it out of reach of children. That said, as long as you take these precautions, Sansevieria Laurentii remains a splendid plant for your living space. A little vigilance is all it takes to serenely enjoy its beauty and benefits.

Does Sansevieria Laurentii produce flowers and fruit?

Snake Plant hides a rather unexpected secret: it can occasionally surprise you with flowers! Although it's a rare phenomenon indoors, Sansevieria Laurentii will sometimes adorn itself with discreet, white or cream flowers, delicately scented. Fruit is even rarer in a domestic environment. If you're lucky enough to see your Sansevieria in bloom, consider it a real privilege and a sign of your excellent green thumb. It's nature's little wink, reminding us that even the most stoic plants can astonish us with their hidden beauty.

Is Sansevieria Laurentii prone to disease and parasites?

Snake Plant, with its air of robustness, is generally quite resistant to disease and parasites.

However, like all plants, it is not invincible. The main enemies it may encounter are mealybugs and red spiders, especially if the air is too dry. Fortunately, with a little vigilance and care, you can easily keep these intruders at bay. Inspect its leaves regularly for signs of parasites and maintain a good level of humidity. In the event of an attack, remove the parasites with Super Neem Oil and a soft cloth.

If you notice that your plant's stems are becoming limp, this is often a sign of over-watering or root rot. Sansevieria Laurentii doesn't like its feet in water! Make sure the soil is well drained and allow it to dry between waterings. Good drainage and careful monitoring of your watering routine will help prevent these problems. Check that you're not over-watering your plant, that there's no standing water at the bottom of the pot and treat it with the Essential Plant Repair Care Pack.
