What are the different varieties of extra large indoor plants?
Do you have an eye for the grandiose in your interior design? Large indoor plants and trees have that unique ability to transform a space, adding a striking element of nature and dynamism. At Léon & George, we offer carefully selected varieties of these attention-grabbing green giants.
Here are a few must-haves:
Ficus (Ficus elastica, lyrata, benjamina): This classic indoor tree, renowned for its beauty, is also an effective depolluting plant and indoor air purifier.
Palms (Rhapis Excelsa, Kentia, Caryota): Captivate your senses with these unique foliage plants. Visual delights that quickly become the centerpiece of any space.
Dragon Tree (Dracaena): With its boldly colored green and red leaves, this houseplant is not just a visual eye-catcher. It acts as a filter for notorious chemical pollutants.

Do large plants require special care?
Large houseplants require no special care compared to smaller plants. Older plants are generally even more resistant. However, proper care is crucial to their longevity.
So how do you keep them looking their best? Here's some detailed information on plant maintenance:
Watering: keep the balance! Appropriate, moderate watering is the key to avoiding root rot. Spraying: A little mist can work wonders. Regular spraying of foliage with distilled or filtered water recreates the humidity these verdant beauties crave. This little wellness gesture also helps keep pests at bay, while providing your plants with top-notch hydration.
Pruning: Give them a little trim from time to time. Remove withered or damaged leaves to encourage vigorous growth and limit the risk of disease. Think of it as a quick makeover.
Leaf cleaning: how about a little home spa? Dusting leaves with a damp cloth not only makes them shine, but also maximizes their ability to absorb light.
Fertilization: Feed them, but do it right! An organic nutrient supply during the growing season contributes to their well-being without exposing your home and pets to chemicals.
Light: The right light makes all the difference. Placing your plant in a bright space without exposing it to direct sunlight is a bit like giving it chic, effective sunglasses.
Pest control: Play plant detective. A regular look under the leaves and around the pot can prevent an unwanted invasion. At the slightest sign of trouble, take swift action with eco-friendly maintenance solutions.
Repotting: We recommend repotting at least 1-2 times a year for large plants. Resurfacing consists in renewing the soil on the surface, providing your plant with new nutrients and limiting the need for repotting. We generally recommend repotting your plant in a pot 3 to 5 cm wider every 2-3 years.
