Which indoor plants are the easiest to care for?

The Sansevieria, ZZ plant (Zamioculcas), Pothos, Philodendron, Cast Iron Plant and Dracaena are among the toughest. They tolerate missed watering and moderate light, which makes them ideal for beginners.

Which plant should I choose if I don't have a green thumb?

Go for near-unkillable plants like the ZZ plant or Sansevieria: they cope with drought, shade and mistakes. For full, easy foliage, the Pothos is also an excellent first choice.

How often should I water an easy-care plant?

Most are happy with watering every ten to fifteen days, sometimes less in winter. Let the soil dry out between waterings: overwatering is the main cause of failure, even with the most forgiving plants.

Are there easy plants that tolerate low light?

Yes. The Sansevieria, ZZ plant, Cast Iron Plant and Pothos thrive even far from windows. They suit dark rooms, hallways and dimly lit offices.

Can these easy-care plants survive while I'm on holiday?

Most last one to three weeks without water, especially the ZZ plant, Sansevieria and Cast Iron Plant. A controlled watering before you leave and a spot out of direct sun are usually enough.

Do easy-care plants need fertiliser?

Very little. A light feed once a month in spring and summer is plenty. In autumn and winter they rest and need nothing.
