At Léon & George we pay special attention to detail. Our staging kit includes stabilized natural lichen for a bright finish.
We also know that finding the right watering routine can be difficult and unlike the last piece of furniture you bought, a live plant requires special attention.
That's why your plant comes with a simple and stylish watering indicator that tells you when it's time to water your plant, as well as clay balls and a matching saucer to retain moisture and limit the risk of overwatering.
Designed and tested with research institutes and agronomists, this tool works without batteries and uses a simple color scale: blue = enough water, white = it may be time to water.

Watering
Approximately 0.75 liters of water once a week in summer, every 10 days to 2 weeks in winter.
Care Guide
The Ficus Elastica Abidjan, more commonly known as Caoutchouc, is a plant that is rather easy to care as long as you respect a few basic rules. Avoid overwatering it. Stagnant water at the bottom of the pot could cause serious damage. Avoid cold draughts, it hates them. For watering, use water at room temperature and whose chlorine has evaporated. Let the top soil dry between waterings. Remove the decorative moss beforehand to avoid wetting it. Water in 2 times, spaced about 10 minutes apart, so that the soil absorbs the water well. Spray the foliage of your plant regularly to increase the humidity level. Clean the foliage once a month with a soft cloth and diluted black soap. Rotate the pot a quarter circle at this time to promote smooth growth. Apply suitable fertilizer once a month from March to September.

Featured Questions
Is Rubber Tree prone to disease and parasites?
Ficus Elastica can be attacked by red spider mites and scale insects. Inspect its foliage regularly for their presence. In this case, remove the parasites with Super Neem Oil solution and a soft cloth, and spray the foliage more regularly to increase atmospheric humidity.
Ficus Elastica is also sensitive to lack of light, excess water and draughts. If this happens, its leaves turn yellow and eventually fall off. If necessary, adapt your watering routine, try to bring it closer to a source of natural light or move it away from fresh air.
Gray spots on the foliage can be a sign of fungus infestation. Check that you're not over-watering your plant, that there's no standing water at the bottom of the pot, and treat it with the Essential Plant Repair Care Pack.
How big can a Rubber Tree grow?
Rubber Tree can reach 59 meters in height in the wild. Indoors, it will generally not exceed 2 to 2.50 meters. Which makes it a real indoor tree.
When should I repot my Rubber Tree?
Ficus Elastica is a reasonable-growing houseplant. It can be repotted every 2 years or so. In the meantime, especially for larger specimens, plan to resurface every year to 6 months, replacing a little potting soil on the soil surface.
Does Ficus Elastica Abidjan produce flowers and fruit?
Ficus Elastica flowers (false fruits) are not very colorful or fragrant. They only appear when the tree is mature. They are small, elongated figs, yellowish and orange when ripe. Pollination of the flowers requires a particular species of wasp. However, indoors or in our latitudes, flowering is extremely rare.
Does Rubber Tree need a lot of light?
Ficus Elastica Abidjan is not a demanding green plant! It prefers a fair amount of sunshine without direct sun. Avoid full sun. This indoor plant needs light. But this tropical plant can also adapt to shady areas, consuming less water and growing more slowly.
Is Rubber Tree easy to care for?
Ficus Elastica Abidjan is an easy-care, hardy houseplant. Keep watering to a moderate level. You can leave the substrate to dry on the surface between waterings. It is particularly sensitive to excess water and draughts.

Does Ficus Elastica Abidjan purify the air?
Rubber Tree are powerful air purifiers, eliminating formaldehyde, benzene and formaldehyde, while converting carbon dioxide into oxygen.
